Scenario
Mark leads a team of office workers whose memories are surgically divided between work and personal lives. When a mysterious colleague shows up outside of work, he embarks on a journey to uncover the truth about his job. The computer terminals used by the Macro data sanitization team do not have an "escape" key.
Ben Stiller personally directed it
Featured on Late Night with Seth Meyers: Ben Stiller/Rose Matafeo/Brooke Colucci (2022). Edit* Episode 9 S1 is one of the best TV episodes I’ve seen in a serialized show, it still tells a story, but shines much brighter. And he deserves awards and accolades for it.
There have only been two episodes
So I’ll keep this very brief for now and update with a full review at the end of the series. I’m going to spoil everything, because I went into the plot blind before watching. Looking at the actors/directors alone, Stiller is still one of the few unique filmmakers in Hollyweird who can pull off a great cast and a decent budget.
It’s its own universe
This is a show unlike anything else on the air and has the potential to be considered one of the greatest unconventional dark comedy series ever. I can’t wait to see the world building. Just give this a chance, it’s not political or influenced by the real world yet.
